"BEST STUDENT PIECE" AWARD WINNER
One of our very own Graphic Arts students, Luciano Sormani, won the "Best Student Piece" award in the Schlow Centre Region Library 2nd Annual Juried Exhibition. The event was held on July 7, 2011. This exhibition was started as an effort to provide an outlet for local artists, and encourage our community to take pride in its talent.
Inspired by a venerable theater in Italy, "Street Theater" took weeks of careful preparation and planning, Sormani says. The slanted paperboard gives a three-dimensional depth to the piece, showcasing a back-lighted sky. As for the miniature figurines? Just let your own imagination bring them to life!
